The Innovative Independent Living Project was developed by Jeanne Sydenstricker in collaboration with the Cleveland Foundation and The Billie Howland Steffee Family Fund. It's purpose was to prove that people with a range of disabilities could live more independently within their communities through the use of technology and human staff support. It has been a huge success with 7 individuals living on their own, going to work and living a healthier, and happier lifestyle.

When Jeanne was reaching the end of her sole as the project manager, part of her pervue was to develop a manual and have a video produced covering the steps needed to develop and implement the project. These two items were to be educational tools for other parents across the country who were interested in developing a similar project of their own for children with disabilities. She would be developing the manual, but she needed to have a quality, informational video produced and that's when she approached Vision Media and Marketing LLC.

After careful consideration, pre-production and three weeks of shooting, the end result was a pair of videos. Each one covered different aspects of the project development, one video handled the perspective of the parents of the residents, and the second video dealt with the professionals who lend their time and expertise to the project. The videos used a combination of interviews, footage of the residents using the technology, human support staff and animation to clearly demonstrate and explain how each aspect of the project worked to provide them with an independent lifestyle. Both videos have been incorporated into a DVD, uploaded to Youtube, and embedded into the website of L.E.A.P for ease of use and distribution. This was all included to further the mission of the project, and get the information out to as many parents and organizations as possible, hopefully to affect and improve thousands of people with disabilities all over the U.S. and beyond.
